I got a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 last week. So far im happy witb it but there are a few down sides. For one thing the TecTiles the people have been using with their Galaxy S3′s are no longer compatable with the new GS4. Its good news is hat samsung is moving to a standardized NFC tag but it would have been nice if they did it from the start. Ill be buying my nfc tags elsewhere. I have some nfc tags that I got from the guys over at nfc task launcher that work on both my gs3 and gs4.

Rooting the GS4 could not have been an easier process since a root method that targets the hardware was aleady available.

Yesterday I installed the first build of CyanogenMod 10.1 on the GS4 but quickly switched back to the stock touchwiz rom. The current build of CyanogenMod does not yet have the GS4 features ported over yet so it pretty much makes the GS4 a GS3. For example, no irblaster and things like the new flip case does not auto lock/unlock.

Last week I got the Galaxy S III…

The phone was great, I like all the features and how speedy it was. The only problem is that I chose to go with sprint because of the overall features and whatnot. Sprint only has 3G currently but they planned to have LTE rolled out in my area within the next to months and I figured I could wait it out. One of the main reasons for picking Sprint over the other companies was the fact that Sprint is the only one allowing Google Wallet without rooting the phone and they are the only provider that allows full intigration with google Voice witch I use a google voice number as my primary cell number (Not being able to receive MMS message on other providers has been annoying).

So, how did it turn out? I ended up returning the phone and canceling my service on sunday because I have Zero Reception while at work where I spend the entire day. I have no issues in the area currently with MetroPCS, Verizon, and AT&T.

Now I’m back to waiting for something to come along thats not just a good phone but a good carrier as well. I’m half way thinking about checking out the new iPhone 5 that is just around the corner.

I’m being told by an extremely credible source that MetroPCS is now starting to monitor LTE and Evdo tethering. They are getting ready to offer a tethering plan that will be $20 extra for the $60 plan.

We already knew MetroPCS was blocking desktop web browser traffic on their network but we are not sure if they are planning on doing anything other than stop the traffic. We also knew they would probably offer a tethering plan at some point. They might as well give people the option, it makes sense to let people pay them for tethering rather than rooting their phones to tether for free.
